With reference to your deenetch No.137, Commercial,

(20026) of the 1st instant I have the honour to transmit

to you herewith a copy of a Lemorandum which I have

received from the Minister for Foreign Affairs stating

that the question of the French tariff on goods trang-

shipped at Hong-Kong which formed the subject of my Hote

to E. Cruppi of the 4th instant is under the considerat-

ion of the Linisters of Finance and Commerce.
